Reminder: end of MRSL v3.1 transition period on ZDHC Gateway on 31 October

October 13, 2023

The transition period from the ZDHC MRSL V2.0 will end on 31st October 2023 on the ZDHC Gateway.

The transition period from the ZDHC MRSL V2.0 and ZDHC Conformance Guidance V1.1 towards the ZDHC MRSL V3.1 and ZDHC Conformance Guidance V2.0 that started on 1st January 2023 will end on 31st October 2023 on the ZDHC Gateway.

A 12 month transition period allowed the successful implementation of the ZDHC MRSL V3.1. During this period:

  • ZDHC MRSL V3.1 certifiers have been approved, onboarded and registered on the ZDHC Gateway.
  • Chemical formulators have ensured that their chemical formulations are ZDHC MRSL V3.1 conformant, certified with a ZDHC Approved MRSL Certifier and registered and published on the ZDHC Gateway.
  • Suppliers have been using the ZDHC Gateway Chemical Module to search for ZDHC MRSL V3.1 conformant chemical products and made changes to their chemical inventories.
  • Brands have been monitoring that their suppliers have adopted the new ZDHC MRSL V3.1 and ZDHC Conformance Guidance V2.0 in their supply chain.

During this transition period, the products could have still been verified according to both ZDHC MRSL Versions (2.0 and 3.1). As of 1st November 2023 only products according to the new ZDHC MRSL V3.1 and the related ZDHC Conformance Guidance V2.0 can be uploaded and published on the ZDHC Gateway.

If by 1st November a product has only been certified against ZDHC MRSL V2.0 and not against ZDHC MRSL V3.1, it will be archived and not visible on the ZDHC Gateway in the product Search, until a new valid ZDHC MRSL V3.1 certification has been uploaded and published.

Thus, from November 2023 onward, suppliers must only purchase ZDHC MRSL V3.1 conformant products for their facilities. They can use up their remnant stocks of ZDHC MRSL V2.0 products over the next six months. That is, until June 2024. The Performance InCheck Report will still show ZDHC MRSL V2.0 certified products until 3st1 May 2024.
